Chetu Foundation Donates Seven Electric Vehicles to Feed 18,000 Schoolchildren Daily Across India

Noida, India Humanitarian Assistance

The Chetu Foundation, the philanthropic arm of global digital intelligence and software solutions provider Chetu, has donated seven fully electric meal delivery vehicles to the Akshaya Patra Foundation to support its mission of ending classroom hunger in India. The initiative reflects both organizations’ shared commitment to promoting child nutrition while adopting sustainable, eco-friendly practices. A joint ceremony held in the Delhi-NCR region marked the official handover, bringing together Chetu team members, community members and leaders from both foundations.

These new electric vehicles are already on the road, delivering nutritious midday meals to government schoolchildren across Delhi, Noida, and surrounding areas. Designed with custom compartments to preserve food safety and quality, each vehicle is capable of making two trips per day, collectively delivering 3,000 meals daily. With this capacity, the program is now reaching approximately 18,000 students and is expected to facilitate the distribution of over 4 million meals annually.

“At Chetu, we strongly believe that sustainable innovation and corporate social responsibility must go hand in hand,” said Manish Kumar, HR Manager at Chetu. “These electric vehicles represent our commitment to nourishing young minds while protecting the planet.”
