St. Jude Walk/Run

Chetu participated in the St. Jude Walk/Run charity event that took place on September 28th, 2019 in Tamiami Park, Miami. This year, thirty Chetu employees came together to raise funds in support of St. Jude’s mission to treat and cure childhood illness. Those that could not physically participate in the charitable event, had the opportunity to join a virtual walk to also help raise funds for a great cause.

As of October 1st 2019, Chetu employees have donated a total of $1,400. As is customary for Chetu, the company’s Chetu Foundation has matched employee’s fundraising efforts for this wonderful cause. Chetu is proud to have exceeded their goal by raising $2,800 for the charity this year.

Since its inception, the St. Jude Walk/Run event has raised more than $17 million to help St. Jude provide cutting–edge treatment and research in finding cures to eradicate childhood cancers. This year’s event featured a patient family speaker, 5K walk/run, family friendly activities and live entertainment. Proceeds from the nationwide event, help support patients battling childhood cancer and guarantees families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, food, or housing.

St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is leading the way the world understands, treats and cures childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases. It is the only National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center devoted solely to children. Treatments developed at St. Jude have helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20 percent to 80 percent since the hospital opened more than 50 years ago. St. Jude is working to increase the overall survival rate for childhood cancer to 90 percent in the next decade. St. Jude freely shares the breakthroughs it makes, and every child saved at St. Jude means doctors and scientists worldwide can use that knowledge to save thousands more children.
